Altr is a digital fashion platform dedicated to unlocking the value of cultural heritage and archival fashion. Designs from MA Fashion designers, Nouf Almalki and Bethany Bell were chosen amongst ten new designers by digital fashion platform Altr’s ‘Digital Meets Culture’, a showcase of fashion cultures from around the world.

The event saw the company team up with universities with strong backgrounds in design and invited DMU designers to create digital clothes for a virtual runway mixing with collections from DKNY, Adidas and Tommy Hilfiger hosted on metaverse platform Decentralised.

Each represents a different part of the world as inspiration for their designs to spotlight cultural heritage and diversity.

Bethany was chosen to represent England and Nouf’s designs reflect Saudi Arabia.

A spokeswoman for Altr said: "The value of fashion archives, until now, has been trapped in their physicality. Altr’s mission is to preserve fashion heritage by giving it new life and attaching contemporary relevance in digital spaces, through elevated luxury experiences and digital savoir-faire. Through this initiative and more to come, Altr aims to propel the longevity of fashion heritage, make it accessible to the digitally-focused generation and generations to come, celebrate culture and individuality in fashion, and inspire future generations of creativity."
